How to signup for a new account

The process to obtain a new account is simple . Usually, there is a signup tab that locates on the top of every page. Once you clicked on it, you should get the the first step where you have to agree to our terms / conditions . Next, you would need to check on the box says "I agree to the above" and click on the proceed button . The system will lead you to the second step where you fill out the information . Make sure you fill in all the required information in order to complete the whole registration process.

How to browse archived calendar
Archived calendar is a feature that allow you to sort out submissions base on given date .  By default, the first page you see is the yearly calendar . The dark color represents the date that system received new submissions . To list them, all you need to do is click on the specific date . Click on the month to access the monthly calendar .

How to view forvn with mobile

To access ForVN Mobile, you need to enter http://mobile.forvn.com . You can browse the contents with the following devices:

• Smartphones
• PDA
• Palms
• SymOS

* For now, we do not offer WAP services

How to navigate categories

The category panel usually locates on the top-left handside . The link with the arrow pointing right contains sub categories. In other words, once you clicked on it, the system will load up the second menu which contains all the categories that are belonged to that category. To return, all you need to do is to click on the "Go back" link.

How to use page filter

Page filter appears each time to browse a category . This feature let you organize the submissions .

• Show -How many items you want to show each page
• Order -The column that you want to sort
• Ascending or Descending -Sorting direction

There are certain times that you see the following icons
 

  Display the results in  list mode

  Display the results in  detail mode

  Display the results in  compact mode

How to add video/music to your site

If you find something you like at ForVN and you want to add them to your website,  you can copy the tags that you see at the middle of the display page .

• URL -Link back to the item
  
• Embed -Copy and paste this code into your website if you want to play this item at your site
  
• Flash -This is basically same as  Embed .The different is that certain forums do not allow  Embed  codes . Therefore, you can use this as the alternative

How to report an abuse about copyrighted materials
Click on "Report" link that correspond to the item that you want to report. Select "Copyright Violation" when the system asks you and follow through with the steps .

How to access my favorites

You go to User Panel > Home > My Favorites

How to check my recent submissions
You go to User Panel > Submissions > Browse

How to check new messages

You can check incoming message by going to User Panel > Mailbox > Inbox . The other shortcut is to click on "Messages" which locate on the top right handside .

How to send a message

You go to User Panel > Mailbox > Compose

• Subject - title of your message
• To - Select the people from your contact manager
• If other - If you want to send a message to someone else that is not in your contact list, fill it the receipient's usename .
• Message Contents - Whatever you want to put in .

How to add a new contact

1. You go to User Panel > Mailbox > Contact Manager
2. Enter username (nick) to the box next to "Add" and click on "Add"

How to remove a message
You go to User Panel > Mailbox > Inbox . Check on the box next to the message you want to remove and click on "Remove" button .

How to remove a contact
You go to User Panel > Mailbox > Contact Manager. Check on the box next to the contact name and click on "Remove Contact" .

How to ignore a member

You go to User Panel > Mailbox > Contact Manager . Look for the username you want to ignore and click on  icon . If the username name is not in your contact list, you would need to add it first, then click on the icon .
  

  Allow this username to send you messages

  Do not allow this username to contact you
 

How to add a video

• Label - The title of your video (nếu tiếng Việt, xin viết dấu)
• Availability - Public
• Parent Category - where should this video belongs to
• Tag - Blank or fill in any keywords you like
• Video Preview - a snapshot of your video or video cover
• Flags - if a completed series, select complete

There are two ways of adding videos

1. Using Link Manager
   
   a. Label ( optional )
   b. Artist ( optional )
   c. URL - Copy and paste the links into this box. The system accepts
   links from the following providers:
   
                 http://www.youtube.com
                 http://www.veoh.com
                 http://www.dailymotion.com
                 http://www.livevideo.com
                 http://www.sevenload.com
                 http://www.vidiLife.com
                 http://www.vidiac.com
                 http://www.neufstream.com
                 http://video.google.com
    
   c. Click on to add the clip
   d. Once finished, you click on "Save Changes" to complete the process
    
2. Using Quickpad
   
   a. Click on the    which locates on the right hand side .
   b. Then paste the links from the providers listed above
   c.  Click on "Filter", the system will generate links that
        readable by the video player.
   d. Once finished, you click on "Save Changes" to complete the process

How to add a song

2. or User Panel > Submissions > New entry > Add to music
3. Browse to the file you want to upload, then click on "Proceed to next step"
4. Fill in the title and artist for your songs and click on "Proceed to next step" (nếu tiếng Việt, xin viết dấu)
5. Label - Tên của album, or CD's name
6. Availability -  Public
7. Parent Category - where should this music album belongs to
8. Tag - Blank or fill in any keywords you like
9. Flags - Complete
10. Finally, Click on "Save Changes" to complete the process
